Creating a Community of Practice
听Announcement Date: Tue, 11 Jun 2024
Dear Victorian AARE School Members and other friends, as well as the Members of AARE in South Australia & Tasmania,
I hope this email finds you well.
My name is Christina Douglas, and I’m the current Victorian State President for the 九色视频 (AARE). Our small but faithful committee is eager to transform AARE Victoria into the thriving professional community of practice it has the potential to be.
Your voice and insights are crucial to assisting us in achieving this goal.
So, you are invited today, to share your thoughts, ideas, and needs through this short
(less than 5 minute long!) survey:
Please share this link with others in your RE team, we would like to gather as much information as possible. Your feedback will directly shape the future of AARE Victoria, ensuring that we offer the most relevant and valuable resources for RE teachers and chaplains like you.
What is the AARE?
A voluntary, non-profit, non-denominational organisation dedicated to supporting chaplains and educators in religious education.
Promotes RE as a vital part of education, supports and represents educators, facilitates continuous development of RE, and advocates for RE to relevant bodies.
What AARE Victoria Hopes to Offer You:
Engaging Professional Learning:听One event per term on relevant topics.
Networking Opportunities:听Connect and collaborate with fellow RE educators.
Shared Online Resource Space:听Access valuable lessons, collaborate on ideas, and more. (Coming Soon!)
Keep an eye on your inbox for updates on upcoming events and ways to get involved. You can also learn more about the national AARE organisation at听
Thank you for being part of the AARE community. We look forward to building a stronger RE network together!
Warmly,
Christina Douglas, On Behalf of the Vic. Committee
P.S.听Have an idea for an event, workshop, or resource? We’d love to hear it! Reply to this email to share your suggestions, or mention it in the survey.听 In the meantime, here are a couple of resources that might help you in your work.
听This resource newsletter comes out regularly (you can read the previous issues by following the link) and is put together by a group in NSW.听 It鈥檚 relevant and contemporary and I always learn something new after reading an issue.听
Have you discovered and joined the Australian Chaplains Facebook Group yet?听 This is an active and engaged community of RE Teachers and Chaplains around Australia that help each other out with ideas and resources.

PAST EVENTS:
Religious Educators Training Day June 5 at PLC Burwood
Dear friends in education,
We pass on an invitation from听Chris Mulherin (ISCAST Executive Director), to AARE members and colleagues to the following training day. Trevor is a UK expert, with a wealth of experience.
The blurb on the flyer reads as follows (with more details听):
Our students live in an age when the notion of truth seems to be out of fashion, particularly when it comes to religion. Diversity rules. This presents a huge challenge for Christian schools. Many Christian scholars have, over the years, used the notion of worldview to negotiate the relationship between truth and diversity. In this session Trevor will introduce the ideas of worldview and critical realism as a robust foundation for education in Christian schools.
Blessings & Joy
